Welcome to ICAMPAM’s website, which provides information on the first conference to be held 21-24 May 2008 in Rotterdam,
ICAMPAM will be the first time that researchers, technologists, suppliers, users, clinicians, and other people interested from around the globe come together to present, discuss and debate all aspects of ambulatory monitoring. We expect this to be the first in a series of future events. The program of ICAMPAM will suit everyone in this field, not only those developing and validating technologies, but also researchers and practical workers in areas such as medicine, (physical) therapy, public health (fall prevention & detection and hypo-activity & overweight included), movement sciences & sports, ergonomics & occupational health, and psychology & psychophysiology.
Topics of ICAMPAM include general methodological and practical issues, advances in instruments & technology in measuring physical activity & energy expenditure, advances in movement analysis outside the lab, and discussions on theory, added value & future. Last be not least, applications in research and (clinical) practice will get much attention.
This event will be a unique forum for advancement of this emerging and important field of science; the content will lead to new strategies and initiatives for collaboration, and will create new inertia within the community related to ambulatory monitoring. The conference will include the key international research groups and projects, but also provide a welcome environment for other people active within this discipline. During our inviting social program we will introduce you to activities in Rotterdam, the most vibrant city in The Netherlands.
On behalf of the organizing committee and the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Erasmus Medical Center, we hereby invite everybody interested in ambulatory monitoring to Rotterdam's ICAMPAM 2008.
